Easy French Toast

Browned and crisp on the outside and soft and custard-like in the middle this easy French toast is a real crowd pleaser. This Easy French Toast is one of my favorite breakfast meals. Or anytime-of-the-day meals for that matter.

  • 4 eggs
  • 8 Tb. Milk
  • 8 slices whole wheat bread
  • Olive Oil for frying
  • Maple Syrup for serving

  • Warm a frying pan up over medium-low heat. Then add about 1 teaspoon of oil to pan.
  • Crack one egg onto a plate and add 2 Tb. milk. Beat together with a fork.
  • Dip a slice of bread in egg mixture and flip it over using the fork to coat both sides of bread. Place in the pan. Cook on each side for about 3 - 4 minutes.
  • Dip a second slice of bread in the egg mixture on both sides. You are coating 2 slices of bread with 1 egg with 2 Tb. of milk. Cook on both sides.
  • Add more oil to pan as needed and repeat with remaining bread.

Higher protein option: Use one whole egg for each slice of bread. Once the bread is soaked in egg on both sides, place bread in pan and pour remaining egg mixture on top, cooking as usual.
Serve with butter, real maple syrup, apple sauce, fresh fruit, or whipped cream as desired.
