You can easily substitute watermelon or another bright red fruit for the strawberries if you prefer. You could also add a shot of your favorite liquor for an adult version of the Ginger Sparkler.

This cooling drink is very fun and easy to make as well. Loaded with healthy fruit, is almost a snack and drink all in one. Because the ginger ale is so sweet it is perfect for special occasions. My kids like it so much that they ask for it all the time now.

It is so easy to make it actually only takes a few minutes. It is also very simple to halve the recipe if you are just making it for yourself or multiply it up if you are making it for a crowd.

It is very easy to crush your ice in a high power blender if you don’t have an ice crusher on hand. I used my blender and it only took a few seconds to turn rock hard ice cubes into a perfect crush for this drink.

Ingredients

You only need a few simple ingredients to make these delicious drinks.

  • Ginger ale
  • Blueberries
  • Strawberries
  • Grenadine syrup
  • Crushed ice
  • Grated ginger

As an option you can also add a shot of your favorite liquor for an adult version of the Ginger Sparkler.

Directions

To make these fabulous red, white and blue ginger sparklers you simply place 1 tablespoon of the grenadine syrup in each glass. Slice the strawberries and carefully position on top of the syrup, dividing them between the two glasses.

Place ice cubes in your blender and blend on high for 30 - 60 seconds to crush your ice.

Next, you will add about ¾ of a cup of crushed ice to each serving. Pour half the ginger ale into each glass, slowly and carefully pouring over the back of a tablespoon. This will help the syrup stay at the bottom and keep the layers separate.

Then add your blueberries to the top of the glass. You can use frozen or fresh, whichever you are able to get. Finally, garnish with the grated ginger. After you have enjoyed the layered look you might want to stir it all around to mix up the flavors. Then sit back and enjoy!
