I love rustic, down-to-earth cooking with simple, traditional methods. Cast iron pans, cooking over real fires and slow cooked anything are thrilling in many ways. I also like running water, electric blenders and my dish washer as I balance tradition with my contemporary lifestyle.
As a busy parent with a full time job, sometimes I need meals that are simple and quick to prepare while other times I like to slow down and let the journey of preparing food nourish my soul.
Creating wholesome and nutritious meals at home helps my family and I stay healthy. I hope to inspire you with a variety of recipes, from traditional and rustic to contemporary and simple, and all of them delicious.
Initially, I learned to cook from my mother. Over the years I have added to my knowledge from friends, other family members, numerous cook books and the internet. I live outside of Portland, Oregon with my husband, two boys and dog. When I’m not working I enjoy art, travel and spending time outdoors.
